Keeping WordPress sites healthy/speedy, and secure requires maintenance a few times a year to apply security patches, core and plugin updates. This service keeps your WordPress core & plugins up to date, along with backup checks.
(Please note this service does NOT include site content updates or theme fixes)
The initial check will include
- Confirm or add a plugin that backs up the database weekly
(Your host is backing up your full website, but I will add an auto service that backups the core database) - Add/confirm you have a security plugin & WordPress firewall that helps deter and detect injected hacker code (free plugin**)
** I have found the free plugin to work very well for small to medium sites, although I might recommend installing the paid version at some stage.
Ongoing maintenance will include
- All plugins are up to date with no conflicts with the site
- The core WordPress system is updated to a recent stable version
- Make sure the database and security plugins are working correctly, including a data scan
- Informing you of any issues with resolution options^
- Check that the site is being backed up by host or plugin
- Checks will be made in June/July, November & March
^ Extras
These items are not included; options will be suggested if needed
- Theme conflicts with updates (I will do my best to fix, but there might be an extra costs to make theme updates)
- Paid plugins that need to be renewed to work correctly with updates
- Custom updates that don’t work with the new WordPress version
- Content updates or theme fixes.
(I will highlight any issues and steps to fix at a cost. The steps will be optional, and I will always leave the site operational (at a lower version), so you can choose to move ahead with the option or not)
COSTS:
Initial check and setup: $150 + GST
Yearly Maintenance Fee (Smaller site): $200 + GST
Yearly Maintenance Fee (Larger site): $300 + GST
